Kate Burke has spent more than a decade helping large
organizations meet new business challenges, adapt to change and
strengthen their cultures. In every one of those endeavors, a
principal focus has been enhancing internal communication.
"Communication plays such an important role in helping people
know what they need to do to achieve their objectives," she
said. "I like to help people figure out where the disconnects
are, and engage them to bridge those gaps."
Kate launched her communications career with Federated
Department Stores, at Macy’s West. As the Manager for Internal
Communications, she led or collaborated with teams to develop
and execute training strategy, HR policies and general
communications. Later, at AMB Property Corporation – a global
Real Estate Investment Trust – she helped the company facilitate
effective communication with diverse employees around the world,
and smoothed the cultural integrations associated with
challenging mergers and acquisitions. Subsequently, as a
consultant, she worked on key communications initiatives with
clients such as Genentech, SunPower, LucasFilm, Terex
Corporation, Applied BioSystems and Gap Inc.
Adept at tapping social media as well as more traditional
communication tools, she helps clients of ROI Communication
align their people with their business goals in a way that feels
true to a client’s culture, building that organization’s
cohesiveness and capabilities at the same time.
An avid outdoorswoman and cycling enthusiast, Kate holds a BA
in Communications from Lewis & Clark College. |
