Arian grew up in Missouri, the "Show Me" state. Perhaps that’s why she has such a strong commitment to outstanding graphic design.
Arian Dasmalchi believes that the most effective communication marries good content and good design, and she is proud she can deliver both.
“As a writer and a design manager, I really understand how entwined those two elements should be,” Arian said. “Design should reflect the content, and should make an impact that reinforces the message.”
Arian, who began collaborating with the ROI team in 2010, has spent the past 14 years running ImageWorks Marketing & Communications, a virtual agency offering complete writing, editing, design, production and project management services. Arian began her career as a journalist before entering the world of corporate communications. She quickly discovered that clients needed more than just a talented writer and assembled a team to provide a full range of marketing communications and employee communications services. Her clients have included HP, Cisco, Visa, Ernst & Young and Kaiser Permanente, among others.
“I enjoy the variety of my work,” she said, noting that it has included rebranding projects, case studies for technology companies, websites, flash banner ads, print ads and marketing collateral. In one appealing project, her team wrote and designed a special insert for banana-shaped Tupperware, promoting Chiquita bananas. The tagline? “Because brown spots belong on giraffes, not bananas.”
“I help conceive, package and deliver content in a clean, simple, impactful way,” she said. “It comes down to knowing your client and knowing your audience, then bridging the two through good writing and design.”
Arian, who graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism, is a past President of the Board of Directors of the Silicon Valley chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators. When she is not consulting, she spends most of her time with her two young daughters or (when she gets some rare quiet time) working on a novel.
