Throughout her
career as a communication professional, Katy Fairman has
developed and managed a broad range of communication initiatives
for clients in the high tech, biotech and energy industries. She
has led internal and corporate communication teams, conducted
communication audits, produced live and virtual events,
developed intranets and publications, managed product launches
and helped big organizations maximize their performance.
"My general
approach to communication is to help leaders engage their
audience with straight talk that is informative and respectful,
while at the same time inspiring," Katy said.
Before joining
Communication in 2006, Katy was a communication consultant
managing programs for high tech and biotech clients. Prior to
that, Katy spent more than nine years at PeopleSoft in a variety
of positions, including director of corporate positioning and
senior product marketing manager for the PeopleSoft Supply Chain
Management division. Recently, she has been helping Chevron’s
Global Marketing communications team more effectively engage its
employees in 70 countries.
Katy earned a
B.A. in Communications in 1991 from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
An avid outdoorswoman, she volunteers for the Nature Conservancy
and – to help others in the world of work – Wardrobe for
Opportunity.
