Designer Kamala Florio believes that visual communication can be
exceptionally powerful, and enjoys pursuing that potential through web-based
platforms. "I like web design because it marries function and aesthetics,"
she said. "It’s both creative and technical."
Kamala studied computer animation at San Jose State University, before
going on to work as a project manager at Kat and Mouse Web Design, and
subsequently for Whagaa, an instructional software company. While at Whagaa,
she designed its website and developed user interfaces for a wide range of
iPhone apps, including those offering instruction on workouts and fitness,
skateboarding tricks, soccer training, healthy cooking – even pole-dancing.
Since joining ROI Communication in 2009, Kamala has provided web and
graphic design services for diverse ROI clients, developing everything from
electronic holiday cards to newsletters to intranet banner ads designed to
engage employees. "I like helping people see things in new ways, so they
understand them better," Kamala said. "That’s the essence of good
communication."
When she’s not working, Kamala is busy raising her two children, and
performs with a belly-dancing troupe.
