Stacy once worked for a Hawaiian floral company, where, in addition to her sales and marketing responsibilities, she became an expert at stringing delicate orchids into traditional Hawaiian leis. As a communications consultant, Stacy helps clients translate complexity into beautifully simple common sense, too.

When Stacy Giordano moved to Hawaii for college, nobody told her that Oahu’s tsunami sirens were tested once a month. And when they started wailing ominously, it took her a few very nervous minutes to realize that the warning was only a drill. Years later, working in crisis communications at a large Silicon Valley technology firm, she always made sure that employees knew about every possible contingency – ahead of time.
“Proactive communications can make a tremendous impact on an organization, no matter what challenge or opportunity it might face,” Stacy said. “People really want to know what the strategy is, and their role in it.”
Stacy, who joined ROI Communication in 2011, spent the previous four years at Cisco Systems. She began as a Program Manager in Safety, Security and Business Resiliency. In this position, she managed the global communications program for the company’s physical security and disaster preparedness team – both planning for and responding to threats that included earthquakes, wildfires, swine flu and severe weather, among others. Subsequently, she was an Organizational Communications Manager for Cisco’s Smart Grid Business Unit, responsible for that organization’s internal communications programs and processes. This involved developing strategy, key messages, white papers, articles, videos, presentations, and business updates, as well as organizing events, coordinating guest speakers, and launching and managing the business unit’s online collaboration platform.
Earlier in her career, Stacy worked as a Project Specialist for Securitas Security Services USA, managing an education and awareness campaign, developing web content, supporting executives, administering budgets and improving business processes. She also worked in marketing at a Hawaiian floral business, the most fragrant workplace she’s ever had.
A native Californian, Stacy earned a BA in Business Administration from the University of Hawaii. When she’s not working, she loves to run, practice yoga, and cook. Recently, she completed the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 60-mile walk – a three-day endeavor she plans to repeat.
