Craig is a talented artist who’s adept with brush and canvas. He helps ROI's clients develop their marketing vision and paint a clear picture of success.
When it comes to marketing communications, Craig Harvey is like a Swiss Army Knife – he has so many tools, he can do just about anything. And having worked on some 300 projects for more than 30 technology companies, he has the experience and confidence to meet every challenge.
"People ask me what I do, and I say everything," Craig said. "I ask the customer what they want and I work to deliver that. At the end of the day, a happy customer is a job well-done."
Craig, who earned an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, began his career as a software engineer. At AutoSimulations, Inc., he helped customers manage and maximize the efficiency of their warehouses. Later, in San Diego, he worked as a Systems Administrator for the Burroughs Corporation and as a programmer for NCR.
After joining Hewlett-Packard in the San Francisco Bay Area, Craig spent seven years in a series of increasingly senior marketing positions, primarily focused on managing HP’s global channel marketing efforts. As industry analyst InfoCorp wrote at the time of his work, "Hewlett-Packard has set a new standard in programs for marketing workstations and multi-user systems."
In 1996, Craig left HP to launch his own consulting firm. In the years that followed, he has handled projects that have included strategic planning, marketing and communication project management, project and product management, channel marketing, eMarketing, event management, market research, surveys, copywriting and messaging.
"The tech industry changes so rapidly, I’m always learning new technologies and ways of communicating about that technology," Craig said. “I really enjoy the variety of work, and the ability to learn.”
Over the course of the past 30 years, Craig has seen technology change from mainframes and punch cards to storage and processing capabilities that would have amazed even the most optimistic futurists. "It’s been a tsunami," he said. "You just have to go with it."
Prior to earning to his MBA, Craig earned a BS in Computer Science. He joined ROI Communication in 2010, and works primarily with Hewlett-Packard. When he’s not working, you might find Craig swimming, biking or traveling.
