Melody is a music lover with a special interest in obscure Indie folk bands. A great listener, she helps ROI’s clients achieve harmony every day.
Whether it’s a corporate meeting, a webcast, a communications calendar or a clam chowder cook-off, Melody Hendren is the consummate organizer – intently focusing on the details of success without ever losing sight of the big picture.
“I like to take on a challenge, figure out all the moving pieces, and make sure that everything runs smoothly,” Melody said. “Getting all the details right is very satisfying.”
Melody, who joined the ROI Communication team in 2008, helps large organizations communicate in ways that are more personal and humane. She does this, in part, by clearly facilitating the integration of thousands of new employees during mergers and acquisitions, and also measures the impact of such efforts by facilitating post-integration surveys – drafting questions, managing survey databases, soliciting participation and analyzing results.
In addition to working with clients such as Cisco and Hewlett-Packard, Melody has managed the ROI headquarters, assisted in recruiting, and helped organize the ROI Executive Forum. Prior to joining ROI Communication, Melody was the event and beach coordinator for the City of Santa Cruz Parks & Recreation department, where she planned and directed major city events, including fireworks on New Year’s Eve, the annual jazz festival, and one of California’s premier seafood cook-offs. Earlier in her career, she was the school relations coordinator at an outdoor science camp, where she marketed educational programs to schools, was responsible for soothing nervous parents, and developed a business plan that increased student participation by 10 percent.
A triathlete and marathon runner, Melody is a graduate of Trinity International University, where she studied business, marketing and human resources.
