Larry is an expert in the management of difficult, public-facing challenges that determine the future of reputations, brands, and careers. His skills come from more than 25 years’ work as an entrepreneur, a manager of professional services firms, a political advisor, and a communications consultant.
His client list includes or has included Nike, General Motors, The Home Depot, Visa, Chevron, Proctor & Gamble, the American Medical Association, Harvard and Stanford Universities, Marriott Hotels and Resorts, Jack-In-The-Box Restaurants, the Port of Oakland, and the San Francisco 49ers. He also counsels large law firms, PR agencies, and other professional service organizations.

He has lectured on crisis and reputation management at a variety of universities and before professional and trade organizations throughout the U.S. and globally.
Before resuming leadership at Kamer Consulting, Larry was most recently a Managing Director and Director of Public Affairs at The Glover Park Group. Previously, he served as West Region Director and Senior Counselor for Fleishman-Hillard, consulting with a range of clients including Chevron, Visa, Pulte Homes, and the American Psychiatric Association. In 2008, he and his colleagues won a Silver Anvil, the industry’s highest honor, for crisis management support of Castleberry’s Food Company in a nationwide canned food recall.
Earlier in his career, Larry served as President, North America, of Manning Selvage & Lee (MS&L), a global public relations firm. In this role, he directed MS&L’s U.S. and Canadian business, was a member of the firm’s global management team, and was a counselor to some of the firm’s largest clients, including DeBeers, Harvard University, Hawaii Pacific Health, The Home Depot, Roche, and Reebok.
