As an engineer, Christine Kessel takes a very
practical, systematic approach to project management. Her
philosophy? Avoid surprises, expect the unexpected, and measure
results.
"When you’re managing change, you need to prepare everyone,
especially key stakeholders," Christine said. "If you anticipate
how people will react to changes and plan for that, you’ll be in
good shape."
Over the past 18 years, Christine has held management
positions at Caterpillar, Procter and Gamble, Case Corporation,
Applied Materials and Sun Microsystems. In these capacities she
has worked on a broad range of projects, including employee
engagement initiatives, training, metrics, websites, recruiting,
program management, operations management, event-planning and
marketing.
Since joining ROI Communication in 2009, she has applied her
experience and skills at Pacific Gas & Electric, where she works
with HR executives to develop and roll out company-wide
communications. "I really like managing projects and programs,"
she said, "and the most successful are always those that
integrate clear, proactive communication."
When not working as a consultant, Christine enjoys volleyball
and has worked with high school students to help them polish
their interviewing skills, write résumés, investigate potential
careers and get excited about their future. One of the programs
she developed won “Most Outstanding Career Explorer Program”
from the Boy Scouts of America.
Christine holds a BS in General Engineering from the
University of Illinois, and an MBA in Organizational Change
Management from DePaul University. |
