Project Coordinator Ashley Rose O’Brien first became interested in
communication while working at Washington Mutual where – in addition to
handling large sums of cash – she taught financial literacy to elementary
school children and got them to save their pennies for a year.
“I helped them set goals and mapped out incentives, and helped them
understand the benefits of saving in terms they could relate to,” Ashley
said. Today, working with global technology companies, her work is not all
that different. “You can’t just take communication for granted,” she said.
“I always try to help people understand how they benefit from specific
actions, and why that will improve the company’s bottom line.”
Ashley, a graduate of San Jose State University, is especially adept at
using the latest technology to achieve communication goals. “I understand
social media really well,” she said – a generational advantage that she puts
to work strengthening clients’ sense of community. Before joining ROI
Communication, Ashley honed her communication skills at Apple and A&R
Edelman, where she helped monitor and analyze coverage of the companies and
related business trends.
Keenly interested in exploring the world, Ashley once sailed aboard a
former pirate ship through the azure waters of the Whitsunday Islands, in
Australia. She did not find any buried treasure, but still reveled in the
riches of nature. |
