Karen O’Brodovich believes that
strong internal communication plays a big role in a company’s
bottom line – if employees are engaged and motivated, they help
the company achieve its goals faster. And with nearly 20 years
of experience in marketing and communications, she knows how to
make that happen.
Karen got her start working with
Cineplex Odeon, in Toronto. First in film and then live theater,
her job was to fill seats – to build up the business by
motivating and engaging people. Her marketing career later led
her into the energy industry, tech startups, retail property
marketing, and enterprise communications at Canada’s largest
communications company – Bell Canada – where she was Director of
Communications.
In this leadership role, Karen
developed and executed internal and external communication
strategy, helped manage culture change, developed a streamlined
company intranet strategy and facilitated the successful
integration of numerous acquisitions in a bilingual environment.
"I am drawn to internal
communication because you can make a real difference to an
organization, implementing programs that actually change the
mindset and change the culture" said Karen, who joined ROI
Communication in 2010.
"If you do it right, you can see
people and groups evolve, and that translates to the bottom
line," she said.
Karen is a graduate of Sheridan
College and the Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive
Program. She serves on the Board of the Silicon Valley Chapter
of the International Association of Business Communicators, is a
long-distance cyclist and an equestrian. |
